Q. What is a literature review?

A literature review (sometimes called critical review) is a factual text that analyses, combines and evaluates information in relation to your assignment.

One of the purposes is to demonstrate that you have done wider research and have critically evaluated each text in the light of others (see Learning Portal, Student Resources, Academic Skills, Literature Review).
